Tastes like the real deal: It's packed with those Big Mac flavors you crave, right down to the pickles and thousand island sauce.
Family approved: Kids and adults alike love it, and you can customize it to suit everyone's tastes.
Key Ingredients
Lean ground beef (85/15): A hearty base that browns up nicely and holds the sauce well.
White or yellow onion: Adds a hint of sweetness and texture to the meat mixture.
Olive oil: Just a small amount is needed to soften the onions before adding the beef.
Chopped pickles: Bring a tangy crunch that balances the richness of the filling. I love using my homemade garlic dill pickles here.
Thousand Island dressing: The creamy "special sauce" that ties everything together. Store bought works just fine, or use my Homemade Thousand Island Dressing.
Cheddar cheese: Melts right into the meat for a rich and cheesy bite.
Shredded lettuce: Fresh and crisp iceberg or romaine are both good choices.
Hamburger buns: Use store bought or make your own homemade hamburger buns.

Substitutions
American Cheese: For a true McDonald's flavor, swap cheddar for Velveeta or American slices.
Ground Turkey: A lighter option that still gives great flavor.
Low Carb Buns: Use my low carb slider bun recipe for a keto version.
