    ❤️ Why you'll love it

Perfect snack or meal: These are the perfect sliders to make for game day snacking or enjoy a few of them for a complete meal

Dill pickle pan favorite: If you are a fan of dill pickle, you will love the simple topping of the signature dill pickle!

Easily portable: White Castle Burgers are a great recipe for those who need to have a portable meal. They travel well and can stay warm in a crockpot or in the oven on low wrapped in foil.

Lean ground beef and dried minced onion.
Just two ingredients needed to make this fast food style burger!
Crumbled ground beef on a baking sheet.
Crumble the beef over top of the minced onion as evenly as possible.
Ground beef patted down into one large patty on a baking sheet.
Pack the ground beef well into the baking sheet, being sure to press the meat evenly out to the corners of the pan.
A jar of Mushroom Umami seasoning.
This Umami blend from Trader Joes is the BEST seasoning! It add savoriness and a little punch of heat.

    🥘 Ingredients

Dehydrated minced onion: this is found in the spice section of grocery stores.

Lean ground beef: Use a good quality beef that has a lower fat percentage.

Seasoning: I used a Mushroom Umami seasoning I buy from Trader Joes, its my very fav so I hope the don't stop making it! Other seasonings you can use are salt and pepper, seasoned salt, Mrs. Dash, whatever your favorite may be.

Slider rolls: White Castle makes their own signature bun that they serve their sliders on. Since you can't buy the real thing, I use the Martin's Potato Slider Rolls, or King's Hawaiian sweet rolls.

    American cheese slices

Dill pickles: these are traditional for the burger but use any of your favorite condiments.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
    2. Line a small baking sheet with aluminium foil. Sprinkle onion flakes on foil lined baking sheet.
    3. Crumble raw beef over top of the dried minced onions evenly. Pat meat mixture firmly over top of onions making one giant burger.
    4. Sprinkle lightly with seasoning to taste.
    5. Bake in oven for 15, until beef is cooked through.
    6. Remove pan from oven and carefully drain any grease from the pan. Using a paper towel, pat the top of burger with to absorb any fat that has accumulated on top.
    7. Place 9 cheese slices on top of the meat and return burger back to the oven for 1 minute, until cheese begins to melt.
    8. Separate the bun tops from the bun bottoms. Set aside. Remove burger from the oven and place the top bun on top of the beef patty, return to the oven for 1 minute. Remove from the oven and cut into 12 equal squares.
    9. Using a small spatula, scoop burger from the baking sheet and place on the bottom buns.
    10. Serve with a side of dill pickle slices, ketchup, and mustard.
One large beef burger that was baked on a cookie sheet.
I used lean beef which eliminated a lot of fat accumulation on the pan or on top of the meat.
American cheese slices on top of cooked beef.
Use as much or as little cheese as you wish! I love the American cheese on these classic sliders.
Burger bun tops on the meat patty with cheese.
This slider recipe makes 12 perfectly sized sliders!
A classic white castle slider with bun tops placed on top of large meat patty.
I like to place the bun tops on the beef patties then warm in the oven for a minute before cutting into even squares.

    🥄 Equipment

    Small baking sheet, I used a 9.5 x 7" sheet

    Aluminum foil

    Mini spatula

    🥫Storage

Store any leftover siders in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days max or a freezer-safe bag up to 3 months.

To reheat, place sliders on a microwave-safe plate for 20-30 seconds in the microwave, or wrap in foil and place in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees.

    📖 Variations

    • Use cheddar cheese, muenster cheese, or pepper jack cheese in place of American.
    • Add a spicy kick and serve with pickled jalapeno slices to make a jalapeno cheese slider.
    • Skip the minced onions and substitute chopped onions
White Castle Sliders served on crispy krinkle cut french fries.
Serve these classic white castle sliders with a side of krinkle cut french fries!

    💭 Tips

    • Having a party? Double the recipe to make 24 sliders and make on a large cookie sheet.
    • Use a rolling pin to evenly distribute the crumbled beef over top of the baking sheet.

    🙋 FAQ's

    The Last Word

A signature White Castle Slider is served with just cheese and pickle topping and it is absolutely delicious that way. However, a few of the images I share here do depict adding ketchup and that is only because I personally like ketchup on my burgers.
