💭 Tips
- Always pat the pork roast dry with a paper towel before sprinkling it with the rub.
- Gently massage the pork roast to aid in absorbing the flavor of the rub into the meat.
- Be sure to not skip the refrigeration part, this is what allows flavor to seep into the pork.
📖 Variations
- Substitute rootbeer for the coca cola.
- Use the same amount of chipotle powder or regular chili powder in place of the cayenne pepper.
🍽 Equipment
Slow cooker, this is the best slow cooker to own! I love how it is fully programmable and switches to the warm setting once the cook time is complete.
🏫 What I've Learned
The slow cooker is a cooks best friend and one of the easiest ways to cook food for a tender, flavorful roast. It does all the work and there is very little mess to clean up afterward.
A slow cooker with digital settings that allows you to program and keeps the food on a warm setting after the meal is cooked is the best type of slow cooker to use.
