Bone-In Pork Chops: I used thin chops. If using thick pork chops, be sure to adjust time accordingly and use the meat thermometer to gauge the internal temperature for donesness.
Unsalted butter: if using salted butter, omit the salt from the recipe.

🔪 How to make Oven Roasted Pork Chops
Prep time: 5 minutes
Baking time: 12 minutes
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat until hot.
- Place 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet to melt.
- Season pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Place the pork chops in the hot skillet and sear in the melted butter for 2 minutes on each side.
- Remove from heat.
- Add the remaining butter, crushed garlic cloves, and thyme sprigs to the hot skillet and transfer to the oven.
- Roast pork chops in the oven for 12 minutes, until the meat thermometer registers an internal temperature of the pork chops is 145 degrees F.
- Transfer oven roasted pork chops to serving platter and spoon 1 teaspoon of garlic thyme sauce over top of pork.
- Allow pork chops to rest for 3 minutes.

- Sear the pork chops in a hot skillet to ensure a good browning on the meat.
- Be sure to allow the chops to rest for at least 3 minutes before serving.
- I do not recommend thick boneless pork chops for this recipe as the thicker the cut the longer cooking time you need and less tender the outcome.
📖 Variations
- Use ghee or olive oil in place of butter.
- Substitute 1 teaspoon of garlic powder for the garlic cloves and add to the salt and pepper mixture when doing so.

- Be sure you only crush the garlic and not mince it. As the garlic roasts in the oven it will caramelize and soften. It will be absolutely delicious with the pork chop.
