Ingredients

Campfire marshmallows: I LOVE these square jumbo marshmallows (affiliate link). They are built for a s'more, but are perfect for making a hot chocolate marshmallow topper!
Chocolate melts: this candy melts super smooth and is perfect for dipping. You can also use white almond bark.
Assorted sprinkles and/or crushed candy canes.
Hint: If adding a flavoring, be sure to use an oil based flavoring to prevent chocolate from siezing.
How to Make Hot Chocolate Toppers

Melt
Place 4 large squares of candy melt in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 60 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir. Microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring between each interval, until chocolate is smooth.

Dip
Dip one half of the marshmallow in chocolate; place the chocolate side up on a parchment paper lined sheet pan.

Top
Sprinkle with crushed peppermint bits while chocolate is still wet. Repeat with marshmallows and chocolate.
Substitutions
Chocolate – Use white chocolate, dark chocolate, or flavored candy melts instead of milk chocolate.
Marshmallows – Swap the large marshmallows for homemade marshmallows or jumbo ones for extra fun.
Sprinkles – Try crushed peppermint, mini chocolate chips, or cocoa powder for a different twist.
Variations
Caramel Drizzle – Add a drizzle of caramel before the chocolate sets for a rich, gooey touch.
Crushed Cookies – Sprinkle crushed Oreos, graham crackers, or gingerbread cookies on top.
Nutty Crunch – Roll the chocolate-dipped marshmallow in chopped nuts like pecans or hazelnuts.
Spiced Cocoa Toppers – Dust with cinnamon or a pinch of cayenne for a warm, spiced flavor.
Storage
Room temperature: store hot cocoa toppers in an airtight container up to 2 months.

Top Tips
