    A quick and easy dip recipe, this hot dip is chock full of lean ground beef, jalapeños, bacon, and cheese. This Cheesy Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger Dip is perfect for game day snacking or holiday get togethers.

    This delicious cheesy dip is the perfect appetizer to make for football season and enjoy with friends and family who are gathering to watch the big game. It is loved by everyone so you might want to double up on and buy a few bags of tortilla chips!

    ✔️ Football fans love this party dip. It is one of my favorite recipes to double up and keep warm in a slow cooker when feeding a crowd.

    ✔️ It is one of the best appetizers! This tasty party dip is packed with gooey cheeses, beef, and bacon, some of my most favorite things!It is a delicious skillet recipe that starts on the stove and finishes in the oven.

    ✔️ It is a cheesy appetizer recipe that always gets great reviews from party guests.

    Lean ground beef

    Jalapeno peppers 

    Onion Soup Mix

    Cream cheese

    Mayonnaise

    Part skim mozzarella cheese

    Thick cut bacon

    Canned diced tomatoes

    Seasoned ground beef cooking in a cast iron skillet.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the chopped bacon and cook for 3 minutes, or until the bacon is browned and crispy. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Drain the bacon grease from the skillet.
    3. In the same skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for 3 minutes, until just beginning to brown.
    4. Stir in the jalapeno peppers and cook another 2 minutes, until beef is browned. Drain the fat from the skillet and stir in the onion soup mix and water. Simmer on low for 5 minutes.
    5. Remove the beef mixture from the heat and stir in the cream cheese, mayonnaise, ¾ cup of the mozzarella cheese, two slices of the bacon and ½ cup of the diced tomatoes until combined.
    6.  Spread mixture out to cover bottom of skillet evenly. Top with remaining ¾ cup of the mozzarella cheese, bacon, tomatoes and jalapeno pepper. Bake in oven for 20 minutes. Serve hot with chips.

    🙋 Recipe FAQ's

    Do you use add seasoning with the hamburger when cooking it?

    The onion soup dip adds all the seasoning you need in this recipe and is used in place of salt and pepper.

    Is it necessary to use mayonnaise in this dip recipe?

    No, mayonnaise can be substituted with the same amounts of sour cream, greek yogurt.

    Do you pre-cook the bacon?

    Yes, I like to chop the bacon first, then cook it in the skillet until it is crispy and brown.

    • When serving for game day or large gatherings, keep the bacon cheeseburger dip warm in a crockpot.

    📖 Variations

    • Stir in ½ cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce for a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Dip!
    • Use ground turkey or ground chicken for the beef.
    • Substitute greek yogurt or sour cream for the mayonnaise
    • Cheddar, Colby jack, or Velveeta cheese can be substituted for the mozzarella cheese.
    • Serve with pork rinds to keep the recipe low carb.

    🏫 What I've Learned

    This recipe turned out to be a favorite of everyone who tried it. I would definitely double the recipe (or maybe even triple it) the next time I was making it for a crowd.

    When making just a single recipe, it works great to cook the ingredients in the skillet, then bake it in the oven to finish it off. However, when making it for a crowd and increasing the amount of ingredients, I like to add the cooked burger combination to the slow cooker and cook it on low for about an hour, then reduce the heat to warm to keep it nice and hot.

    Ingredients
      

    • ½ pound lean ground beef
    • 2 small jalapeno pepper , divided (optional)
    • 1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
    • ¼ cup water
    • 4 ounces cream cheese
    • ¼ cup mayonnaise
    • 1½ cups shredded part skim mozzarella cheese , divided
    • 4 slices thick cut bacon , diced
    • 1 cup diced tomatoes

    Instructions
