These Applesauce Muffins are soft, slightly sweet, and filled with just the right amount of cinnamon and chopped pecans. They're the kind of muffin I love to have on hand for a quick breakfast or to go with my afternoon coffee.

This recipe brings back memories of baking with my mom on chilly mornings in Northern New York. We'd often make a batch of Applesauce Drop Cookies with Browned Butter Icing, and these muffins give me that same cozy feeling. They're simple, reliable, and always disappear fast at my house.

Why I Love These Muffins
One of the reasons I love these muffins is because they're made with basic pantry ingredients I usually have on hand. The applesauce keeps them moist without needing a lot of butter and the pecans add just the right bit of crunch. They're easy to make, and the flavor is comforting in the best way.
The Ingredients
The unsweetened applesauce is the real star here. It adds moisture and a gentle apple flavor that works well with the cinnamon. Brown sugar brings in a soft caramel sweetness, and the chopped pecans give a nice crunch. You can use white sugar if that's all you have, or swap the pecans with walnuts or leave them out if needed.

Variations
If you want to mix things up, try folding in a few raisins or dried cranberries. A sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top before baking gives them a bit of a crust. I also like making these as mini muffins when I'm baking for my grandson, just the right size for little hands!
Storage
These muffins will keep well in an airtight container for a few days, or you can freeze them for later. I like to warm one up in the microwave or air fryer and enjoy it with a hot amaretto coffee.

Serving Suggestions
These muffins are perfect warm from the oven with a pat of butter, but they’re just as good paired with a side of savory Air Fryer Bacon. I also love serving them with a hot mug of my Salted Caramel Mocha Latte on cool mornings or for a make-ahead option, try them alongside these Egg Muffin Cups.
