Caramel Apple Cheese Danish is the perfect compliment to your cup of coffee in the morning.  This easy to make breakfast recipe brings the flavors of salted caramel and apples to your morning. A delicious and warming fall recipe!

Serve this Caramel Apple Cheese Danish for breakfast, brunch, or with a hot cup of coffee for an afternoon warm up! Made easy using Mom's Homemade Apple Pie in a Jar, a simple cheesecake filling, and crescent roll dough!

    Caramel Apple Cheese Danish

Brunch made easy with Caramel Apple Cheese Danish!

There are mornings where I feel like doing little work in the kitchen and a lot of covering up with a blanket, a cup of coffee, and a nice warm slice of Caramel Apple Cheese Danish! While I love the traditional danish recipe, I also love to not slave away in the kitchen on my days off.

That is why I created this danish recipe using my Mom's Apple Pie in a Jar and International Delight Caramel Macchiato Creamer. The creamer gives that caramel flavor that compliments the apple pie filling so well. And, I don't have to add anything else to make it have that fall feel!

An Easy and Delicious Breakfast Recipe!

Have you ever wondered how the braided danish was made and how difficult it would be to do it? I always wondered this. And, when I realized just how easy it was to do I almost felt guilty when someone told me how elegant it looked!

    danish ingredients

It is so very easy to make. Just grab a tube of ready made crescent dough and make a cream cheese filling.

Then, the crescent roll dough is laid out and strips are cut on both sides (more detailed instructions in the recipe card).

assembling the cheese and apple filling on the danish dough

A layer of the cream cheese filling is placed along the center of the danish. Then, a layer of Mom's Apple Pie in a Jar Filling goes on top of the cheesecake layer. You can also use canned apple pie filling bought from the store.

Lay it the crescent roll dough on a pan dusted with a little bit of flour making sure any holes in the dough are pinched together. Then, flatten it out to fit the pan.

    Making the danish braid

making the danish braid by wrapping the dough strips around the filling

Use your hands or a mini rolling pin to roll out the dough. The cheesecake filling will go along the center of the danish. Then, the apple pie filling goes on top of the cheesecake filling. Be sure to leave a good amount of room around the bottom edges and sides. You need room to fold up and enclose the filling.

Once you have the filling centered, you need to cut about 10 even strips (about 1" for each strip) on each side of the danish filling. Be careful to not cut too close to the filling as you will have leaks on the side from folding. Bring the top portion from one side of the danish to the opposite side and "crisscross" the dough strips to the bottom.

Before you bring your last strips across, bring the bottom part of the danish up and cover your bottom layer of filling. Finish crossing over your last few strip to completely enclose the braid.

I brush the unbaked dough with some of the International Delight® Caramel Macchiato creamer. This will give it a golden, sweet and crisp exterior. After 30 minutes of baking, you will have a delicious Caramel Apple Cheese Danish!

Drizzling the baked danish with icing

When your danish is done baking you will have a beautifully golden brown danish braid! Let it cool for about 10 minutes, then drizzle it with a Caramel Macchiato Glaze made with the creamer!

Once drizzled with the glaze, sprinkle with some fall colored jimmies or sugars!

What are your favorite fall flavors and how would you incorporate them into this danish? Do you have a favorite creamer flavor that you could use to create your own recipe?
