    🥘 Ingredients

    Carrot sticks: choose small sweet carrots or baby carrots that aren't too thick for the most tender carrot fry.

    Avocado oil: cooking spray can be substituted to reduce fat

    Sea Salt and Black Pepper

    Paprika

    Garlic powder

    Grated parmesan 

    Mayonnaise

    Honey

    Fresh garlic cloves

    Chili oil (or crushed chili flakes to taste)

    Cut carrots on a wooden board.
    Cut
    Fresh cut carrots in a glass bowl with seasoning sprinkled on top.
    Season
    Carrots in a bowl of Parmesan cheese.
    Coat
    Raw carrot sticks in the air fryer basket.

    🔪 Instructions

    For the sweet and spicy dipping sauce

    1. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, honey, chili oil, and minced garlic until well combined. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

    To prepare the carrots fries

    1. Cut carrots into 3” long fry shaped pieces
    2. Place cut carrots in a large bowl and drizzle with avocado oil. 
    3. Add salt, garlic powder, and paprika, then stir to coat carrot fries.
    4. In a small bowl, add the grated parmesan cheese. Place carrot fries in the cheese and toss to coat completely.
    5. Place carrots in a single layer in an air fryer basket and set temperature to 400°f for 13 minutes cooking time, until carrots are crispy and golden brown. 
    6. Remove carrots from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before removing from the air fryer basket. Serve with sweet and spicy dipping sauce if desired.

    Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the up to 4 days.

    Reheat: place leftover carrot fries in the air fryer at 375 degrees F for 5-7 minutes.

    📖 Variations

    Spicy Carrot Fries: take the carrot fries to the next level with a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the Parmesan coating for a spicy twist.

    Herb-Infused Carrot Fries: Mix  dried herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley into the Parmesan coating for an aromatic touch.

    Vegan Carrot Fries: Use a vegan cheese substitute and a plant-based mayo for a vegan-friendly version.

    💭 Tips for the best Air Fryer Carrot Fries

    • If you want to use less oil, then use an avocado or olive oil spray in it's place. Just generously coat the carrots with the spray to allow the seasoning to stick to the carrot sticks.
    • Cut carrots evenly to ensure all the carrot fries cook evenly, try to cut them into uniform sizes.
    • Be sure to pat carrots dry before coating with oil to soak up any excess moisture. This allows the oil to stick to the carrot rather than slide off.
    • For crispier fries, don't overload the air fryer and arrange the carrots in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure they get crispy. You may need to cook them in batches
