This Mango Lassi Recipe is a creamy and delicious yogurt drink. Made right in your blender with only 4 ingredients, this beverage is not only easy to make but you can also store it in your refrigerator up to a couple of days.
When I have a sweet and juicy mango all ripe and ready for consumption, the first thing I think about making is this recipe for Mango Lassi. A traditional Indian beverage that is perfect for breakfast or afternoon snack. Because it is a cooling beverage, it is a great drink to serve with a spicy meal to help tone down the heat on your tongue a bit!

Why I made this recipe
First of all, I happened to have a few mangoes laying around. Since they were on sale recently, decided to stock up on a few. Seeing the mangos reminded me of the first time I had Mango Lassi. I was invited to join a friend for a meal at an Indian restaurant and the Lassi was my beverage of choice.
After that meal, I decided I wanted to recreate the recipe at home so I could enjoy it whenever the mood hits me. I found out that it was a very easy recipe to make ahead of time and store in the fridge for a few days. If it lasts that long that is!
Ingredients needed to make this recipe
You can't ask for anything simpler! All that is needed to make this delicious drink is unsweetened whole milk yogurt, mangos, a sweetener of your choice, a little bit of vanilla, and ice. You also will need either a Magic Bullet or a blender.
I like to buy a whole milk yogurt that is unsweetened, then add my own flavor and sweetener. I do this mainly to keep the sugars down and add sweetener to taste. Some mangos will be really sweet and juicy and you won't need much, if any, added sweetner at all.
Why this beverage is good for your health
Yogurt contains probiotics. Because probiotics are good for your gut, you can feel good about consuming it! A few of the benefits of probiotics can be weight loss (particularly belly fat), better mental clarity, and can help keep your heart healthy!
Making a Mango Lassi Recipe
Choose a ripe mango. A mango that is not ripe will not be sweet. And, it will be hard to slice! If the mango is ripe, it will feel soft when you apply a light pressure to the fruit. You can also try smelling the fruit at the stem end. If you can smell the fruit, it is likely ripe.
Layer your ingredients into your NutriBullet or blender. I like to layer as follows: yogurt, mango, sweetener, vanilla extract, and ice.
Blend the ingredients in the blender until smooth. Then pour into serving glass or storage container. The beverage will last in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
What to serve with Mango Lassi
A delicious Indian recipe I have made quite often over the last few years is Gobi Aloo. This is a recipe that was shared with me by a student at the University I worked at several years ago!

Ingredients
- 1 ripe mango peeled, seeded & cubed
- 1 cup whole milk plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed ice
- sweetener to taste I use Splenda
Instructions
- In your blender or NutriBullet, place yogurt, mango chunks, vanilla extract, and sweetener (if using).
- Blend until smooth.
- This recipe will produce a thick and creamy beverage. If the lassi seems too thick for you, add a little more ice or water to thin it out and run thru blender again.

I have some form of a smoothie almost everyday! I also think it's the best way to get a bunch of fruit into my nieces and nephews without them knowing it! Happy Fourth Honey B!

This looks perfect for breakfast. Unfortunitly, I dont have a blender at the moment so I'm smoothy free. Think I'll tell Santa I need one this year! 😉

A perfect summer drink! It's sweltering where I live, I adore mangoes, and I've been on a smoothie/lassi kick lately too, including the popsicle versions of both. Many thanks for sharing this recipe with us, which looks sensational.
