How To Make Lavender Oatmilk Latte
- Combine lavender buds, sugar, and water in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain the syrup to remove the lavender particles.
- Add the hot espresso to a 12 oz mug or 16-20 oz cold beverage glass. Add 1-2 tablespoons lavender syrup to the espresso.
- Steam the oat-milk via steamer, frother, or heat with the microwave and a handheld frother. Pour the hot frothed oat-milk over the espresso including the milk foam.
Hint: If serving cold, fill the gas with ice and add the cold oat-milk over the espresso.
Substitutions
- Milk Options: Use almond milk, coconut milk, or regular dairy milk if oat milk isn’t your thing.
- Sweeteners: Swap the simple syrup for honey, maple syrup, or a sugar-free alternative like stevia.
- Lavender Substitutes: If you don’t have culinary lavender, try a drop of lavender essential oil (food-grade) (affiliate link) or omit it for a plain oatmilk latte.
Variations
- Flavor Additions: Add a hint of vanilla extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra depth.
- Decaf Version: Use decaffeinated espresso or skip the coffee entirely for a lavender milk steamer.

Equipment
- Espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker
- Milk frother or whisk
- Small saucepan (for the lavender syrup)
- Fine mesh strainer
- Glass or mug for serving
Storage
Store the lavender syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Shake or stir before use as separation may occur.
Top tip
Brew Strong Espresso: Use a bold espresso blend for the best flavor contrast with the creamy oat milk and lavender syrup.
Don’t Overheat the Milk: When steaming or frothing oat milk, keep the temperature below 150°F to prevent it from curdling or losing its creaminess.
