This fresh Peach Salsa recipe is the perfect summer appetizer and one of my favorite homemade salsa recipes.

A bowl of fresh peach salsa.

It is a great recipe to make when it is peach season and you have the best fresh peaches on hand!

    ❤️ Why you'll love it

✔️ It is an easy peach salsa that is made with fresh fruit with no cooking required!

✔️ Homemade peach salsa is the perfect topping for chicken or fish tacos.

✔️ This easy peach salsa is the best way to enjoy fresh peaches in season.

    Fresh peach cut in half.

    🥘 Ingredients

Fresh ripe peaches, I like to use yellow peaches but white peaches work as well.

Tomato, choose a large plum tomato

Jalapeno peppers, I like to pick a large jalapeno to make sure I have the heat factor I love.

Red onion, adds color and flavor

Red bell pepper, should be firm to the touch with no blemishes.

Cilantro, choose cilantro that is fresh without wilted leaves.

Limes, choose plump limes that give when squeezed as fresh lime juice will be extracted from them.

    Salt and black pepper

Fresh cilantro leaves on cutting board.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. In a large bowl combine peaches, tomato, jalapeno, onion, red bell pepper, and cilantro.
    2. Pour the lime juice over top of the peach mixture and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

    🥄 Equipment

Large bowl with lid (you will mix and store the salsa in the same bowl)

    Chef knife

    Cutting board

    Citrus juicer

    Strainer

    Measuring cups

    Ingredients in a bowl.

    🥫Storage

Store fresh salsa in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days.

    📖 Variations

    • Substitute diced cherry tomatoes in place of the plum tomatoes
    • If you are sensitive, reduce the amount of jalapeno, or substitute green pepper for the jalapeno.
    • Adjust the heat level to your liking by adding more or less jalapeno to the recipe.
    • Substitute any seasonal fruits for the peaches. Strawberries or mangos are great choices.
    • Add 2 teaspoons chili powder for added flavor.

    💭 Tips

    • Any tomato will work, but plum tomatoes have more meat and less juice. If using a real juicy tomato you may want to drain some of the liquid before adding to the salsa.
