📖 Variations
- Substitute apple juice or beef broth for the chicken broth
- Add ½ teaspoon liquid smoke to the cooking liquid to boost flavor.
- Change the spices to your favorite flavors, you may want to use chili powder in place of ground ginger to add a little bit of heat to the rub.
💭 Tips
- When mixing the spices and sugar, be sure there are no lumps of brown sugar remaining.
- Make sure that you do a natural release, a quick release removes the pressure immediately letting out the steam that a natural release uses to continue cooking and tenderizing the meat.
- Make your own homemade bbq sauce to glaze the ribs.
🙋 FAQ's
A country style rib is meat that is taken from the fatty muscular section of the shoulder blade of the pig. Bone-in country style ribs usually means part of the shoulder blade is in the rib and not a rib bone.
I do not recommend doing so as spare ribs usually are a bone in rib and the cooking time will need to be different.
