Barbecue sauce or buffalo sauce: I love to use either G Hughes Carolina BBQ Sauce or Frank's Wing Sauce to coat the chicken legs once cooked.

    2. Turn the instant pot on to the sauté mode, add the olive oil, and heat until hot.
    3. Place chicken in the instant pot and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until chicken has browned on the outside. Turn off the saute setting.
    4. Remove chicken from the instant pot and place in a single layer on top of the trivet inside of the pot.

Refrigerate: store leftover chicken drumsticks in an airtight container in the fridge up to 5 days.

Freeze: store in airtight freezer bags in the freezer up to 3 months.

Reheat: place thawed chicken drumsticks on a baking sheet covered with foil and heat at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, until warmed through.

    📖 Variations

    • Use chicken breasts or chicken thighs in place of the chicken legs.
    • In a small bowl, combine equal amounts of garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper.
    • Substitute a cup of chicken broth or white wine for the water.

    💭 Tips

    • If you kept the skin on the chicken drumsticks, place them on a baking sheet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes per side or place in an air fryer at 400 degrees for 5 minutes for a crispy skin
