    ❤️ Why you'll love it

Sweet and Spicy Flavors: this asian glazed chicken has a sweet and spicy glaze that cooks on the chicken legs the last 10 minutes of cook time

Simple ingredients: made with basic ingredients most people already have in their pantry.

Easy recipe: if you love easy chicken recipes, then you will love this one! Just bake and eat!

Raw chicken legs on a blue mat.

    🥘 Ingredients

Chicken legs: I left the skin on my drumsticks because we like crispy chicken skin, however it can be removed if desired.

Salt & black pepper: to season the chicken drumsticks.

    Balsamic vinegar

Tamari sauce: added for umami flavors

    Honey

Sambal oelek: adds a little bit of heat to the glaze.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place drumsticks in baking dish and season with salt and pepper.
    2. Bake for 35 minutes. Chicken should be golden brown with crispy skin.
    3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the vinegar, tamari, honey and sambal oelek. Pour over baked drumsticks. Using tongs, turn chicken to coat with sauce.
    4. Place chicken legs back in oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and turn chicken to coat with more sauce.
    5. Serve drizzled with extra sauce, if desired.

    🥄 Equipment

Baking sheet or dish: I love to use stoneware for roasting chicken, it holds heat and I feel the chicken cooks through and the skin crisps up better.

Small bowl: to mix together the glaze for the chicken legs.

Silicone pastry brush: to glaze the drumsticks.

    🥫Storage

Refrigerate: store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days.

Freeze: store in freezer safe airtight container up to 3 months.

Reheat: warm thawed drumsticks in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes or in the microwave until warmed through.

Chinese Chicken Drumsticks with a side of asparagus.

    📖 Variations

    • Substituted soy sauce for the tamari sauce.
    • Sprinkle the glazed chicken drumsticks with sesame seeds prior to serving.
    • Substitute chicken thighs or chicken wings for the chicken legs.

    💭 Tips

    • Make this chicken drumstick recipe on the outdoor grill! Just heat the grill until 350 degrees, then grill over indirect heat for 35 minutes, until chicken reaches internal temperature of 165 degree F. Place chicken over direct heat and brush with glaze. Grill 7 minutes, brushing with more glaze and turning after 4 minutes to create charred crispy skin and grill marks.
