Fireball Apple Cider is a hot toddy made with Fireball Whisky and apple cider. This fall cocktail will have you toasty and warm in even the chilliest of days or evenings! It is the perfect beverage to serve in the fall when the apples are in season and fresh cider is abundant.

I love to enjoy this spiked apple cider when standing around the firepit with a hot beverage, conversing with friends and staying toasty warm.

I like to serve Fireball Apple Cider on Christmas Eve while the family is gathered around the fireplace or snuggling up to your loved one watching a movie.

    Inspiration

The first time I tried a Fireball Apple Cider, I was celebrating my birthday at a Harvest Moon Dinner at Windham Mountain in New York. I celebrated in style by taking a chairlift to the mountaintop for appetizers and drinks.

The group was served a charcuterie board along with libations of choice. It was quite chilly, so to warm up, my choice for the evening was a spiked apple cider made with Fireball Whisky. Ever since then, when the evenings start to cool down and fall is on the horizon, I am ready to warm up with this warm spiked drink!

    What is a Hot Toddy

One important thing to know about a hot toddy is that it is generally known as hot whiskey. Usually made as a nightcap or as a beverage for when your feeling under the weather with a sore throat, cold, or flu.

This hot toddy is on the sweeter side and delicious warm. If you love cinnamon, then you will love this beverage.

pouring a shot of fireball whisky into the hot apple cider

    🥘 Ingredients

The recipe is straightforward! It can be made single serving, or in a batch for gatherings. It is easy to warm up a cup of apple cider and spike it with a shot of Fireball Whisky. The microwave is our best friend on cold winter nights!

Apple Cider: There is a difference in apple cider. If you can buy it from a local orchard, that is the best way to buy it. The cider in the grocery store, unless it's in season and is directly from a local orchard, is not the same. However, it will work when you have no other choice

Fireball Whisky: This cinnamon flavored whiskey is sweet, spicy, and has a warming kick.

A pretty mug: Well it is not required, but I do love to make my spiked cider in a footed glass mug!

    📖 Variations

    • Add mulling spices wrapped in cheesecloth to the apple cider in the slow cooker. After the cider has warmed up and had time to allow the spices to seep through, pour a cup and add a shot of Fireball Whiskey.
    • Serve the spiked apple cider with some fresh apple slices and cinnamon sticks as a garnish.
    • Mix a shot of Fireball Whisky White Spiced Hot Chocolate instead of the apple cider.
    • Substitute Spiced Caramel Cider for the apple cider.
    • Serve Fireball Apple Cider cold with a splash of ginger ale and a cinnamon sugar rim.

Can the Firebsll whiskey be added to the cider in the pot when it's warming?

I prefer not to heat alcohol when I am making a beverage. The shot of whisky won't change the temperature enough to say so and I can't say how much of the alcohol evaporates when it is heated up.

This sounds delicous to me. I have never heard of Fireball Whiskey but I do have some Hot Damn Schnapps on my shelf that I think would work perfectly.
