I've always loved a slice of warm apple pie, but sometimes I jsut want something easier and quicker without sacrificing flavor. That's how these air fryer apple hand pies came to be. Simple, sweet, and just as satisfying.
If you love pie but don't have time for a full one, this recipe is right up there with my Pumpkin Hand Pies and makes a great addition to your seasonal dessert menu.
Why You'll Love These Apple Hand Pies
Quick and Easy: No need to fuss with a full pie when you can have individual apple pies ready in minutes.
Air Fryer Friendly: Less mess, no oven, and perfectly golden crust every time.
Customizable: Use your favorite apple variety or add your own twist with spices or toppings.
Key Ingredients

Granny Smith Apples: These tart apples balance the sweetness of the filling and soften nicely when cooked.
Pie Crust: A flaky oil pie crust or store-bought version makes this recipe easy and delicious.
White and Dark Brown Sugar: The combo creates that rich, gooey, caramelized filling.
Ground Cinnamon: Just the right spice to highlight the apple flavors.
Vanilla Extract: Adds a warm, aromatic note to the apple filling.

Ingredient Substitutions
Use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples instead of Granny Smith for a sweeter pie.
Coconut sugar can replace white and brown sugar for a more natural sweetness.
Apple pie spice can be used in place of cinnamon for a bolder fall flavor blend.
Variations
- Top with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle for a more decadent dessert.
- Add a handful of raisins or chopped walnuts to the filling.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar after air frying for a bakery-style touch.

Top Tips for Making Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies
- Don't overfill. Just a spoonful of filling per pie is plenty.
- Brush with melted butter or egg wash before air frying for that beautiful golden finish.
- Chop apples small so the filling cooks evenly and fits easily inside the crust.
Storage
Once cooled, store leftover apple hand pies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them up again.

Serve with...
These apple hand pies are delicious on their own, but even better with a little something extra:
A scoop of homemade vanilla bean ice cream - Let it melt over the warm pie for a classic pie à la mode treat.
A slice of sharp cheddar cheese - A nod to the old-fashioned apple pie pairing that adds a savory bite.
Whipped topping - Light and creamy, it's an easy way to dress up your dessert without extra fuss.
A Vanilla Frappuccino - Cold and creamy with hints of coffee and vanilla, it pairs perfectly with the warm cinnamon apples.
