Ingredients for Air Fryer Yellow Squash recipe.
Just a few simple ingredients in a hot air fryer make the most delicious flavor packed squash side dish.
Sliced yellow squash on a cutting board.
Cut the squash in ¼ inch thick pieces and stay consistent with the size to ensure it cooks evenly.
Raw squash circles in a mixing bowl with spices sprinkled on top.
A drizzle of olive oil (not too much!) allows the spices to stick to the squash and aids in the browning process.

Be sure to place the squash in the air fryer in a single layer to allow the heat to circulate and evenly cook the squash.

    🥘 Ingredients

Fresh Yellow squash: this comes in two different types, there is crookneck squash (yellow squash that makes a hook at the top and hasslightlyy bumpy skin),and yellow zucchini (shaped like green zucchini but yellow in color).

Paprika: you can use sweet or smoked paprika

Olive oil: adds flavor and helps the spices adhere to the squash

Garlic powder, black pepper, and salt: more of the spices that season the squash

Fresh parsley: to sprinkle garnish the squash recipe, you can substitute any of your favorite fresh herbs if desired.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
    2. Place squash pieces in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
    3. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle over top of the squash and toss to coat.
    4. Place squash slices in the basket of your air fryer in a single layer, being careful to not place any on top of each other.
    5. Air fry for 15 minutes, or until squash is tender and is golden brown.

    • Sprinkle the top of the squash with some buttered toasted bread crumbs for added texture and flavor (no longer keto if you do this).

    🏫 The last word

Cooking summer squash at a high heat causes it to caramelize, which gives it an incredible flavor. Whether you are air frying squash or cooking in the oven or convection oven, no matter the cooking process, high heat is the secret to a delicious flavorful and healthy side dish.
