A delicious, slightly sweet, slightly tart Watermelon Lime-Berry Sangria is a refreshing and delicious beverage to enjoy this summer! Full of refreshing watermelon, blackberries and lime, you can have your fruit and drink it too!
It's no secret that I love my boozy beverages. However, my main choice of boozy beverages is wine over liquor. I have some favorite local wineries in my area as well as a few from other states. One of them being CK Mondavi!
Before I attended the Food & Wine Conference in June, I found out that CK Mondavi was going to be one of the sponsors. Because I love wine so much, I went right out and found some of their wine in one of our local stores. I wanted to give it a test run and get to know it a little bit before attending the conference. While at the conference, Justin and I had the opportunity to meet Janice Mondavi and spend some one on one time with her. We talked to her about about her family and business as well as sharing some of our life. We are so grateful that we had that opportunity and hope to have a long relationship with her amazing family and business! As I continue to serve and enjoy CK Mondavi wines in our home, I will remember the family behind this great wine, their past history and their future!
Sangria is one of those alcoholic beverages that is "appropriate" to serve pretty much any time of the day. It is great for brunches, luncheons, or those fun summer get togethers you have with friends. It is fun to make and serve and everyone loves the fruit! Not only is it delicious after it soaks in the wine, but it makes the beverage pretty to look at also!
White wines are the best for summer sangria and for this particular recipe I went with CK Mondavi Blonde Five. Its sweeter than Sauvignon Blanc but not as sweet as the Moscato, plus, it is the only wine that Grumpy has been willing to drink! You can use any of the three in this sangria however and just adjust the amount of sweetness depending on which wine you use according to your own taste. I used agave as a sweetener to adjust for the slight better you get from the lime.
So, why don't you grab a bottle of wine, make this Watermelon Lime-Berry Sangria and invite a few friends over to cool down with you one of these sultry summer days we have been having. After all, it's 5 o'clock anywhere!
- 1 bottle CK Mondavi Blonde Five Wine
- Juice of 2 limes
- ½ cup peach flavored vodka
- 2 cups cubed watermelon
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 lime, thinly sliced into rounds
- 2-4 tablespoons of agave nectar
- 4-6 mint leaves, torn
- Prepare your fruit and place in a glass serving pitcher along with torn mint leaves. Pour wine, lime juice, vodka and agave into the pitcher and lightly stir to combine. Start with 2 tablespoons of agave and add more as needed according to your sweetness preference. Serve in wine glasses over ice if desired.

I got such a giggle out of your comment about it being socially appropriate to serve sangria any time of day! How true that is! The addition of fruit certainly makes it breakfast-y in my book. 🙂 This looks and sounds delicious!

A gorgeous drink and I's sure it's as tasty as it looks. Cheers!

Never heard of their Blonde Five before! 🙂 I will have to look for that the next time I am at the store just so I can make this delicious sangria.
