Strawberry Baked Donuts are a healthy baked donut recipe made with whole grain cereal. These homemade donuts are the perfect solution to busy mornings and are a delicious afternoon snack with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
This delicious donut recipe is a take on a favorite muffin recipe that was updated to make in a donut form. They are full of fresh strawberries, and drizzled with a strawberry glaze, with just 1 grams of fat per donut!

🥘 Ingredients
Whole grain cereal flakes
Almond milk
Fresh strawberries
All-purpose flour
Large eggs
Brown sugar
🔪 Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400. Spray donut pans liberally with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, combine cereal and milk; let stand until softened, about 15 minutes. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a large measuring cup, whisk together the oil, egg, and sugar. Stir the oil mixture into the cereal mixture. Fold in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir in the chopped strawberries.
- Prep a piping bag by cutting tip to make a hole about ½ inch wide. Put the donut batter in the piping bag and pipe into donut wells. Top with sprinkles of crushed cereal flakes.
- Bake the donuts for 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of a donut comes out clean. Cool in baking pan for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack; let cool completely.
- Combine 1 cup of powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla. Stir until well combined. Add remaining ½ cup powdered sugar and stir until smooth.
- Drizzle donuts with the strawberry glaze.

- Skip the glaze and sprinkle the tops of the unbaked donuts with a cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Substitute fresh blueberries for baked blueberry donuts.
- Substitute 2 egg whites for the large egg to reduce fat more.
💭 Tips
- A plastic bag (storage bag) can be used in place of the piping bag.
- When cutting the piping bag, be sure to cut far enough up from the tip to allow a thick amount of batter to fill the donut molds
