Italian Style Dinner Made In One Pot
Making an alfredo dinner in one pot may sound a little strange, but it is very possible! The first time this concept was brought to my attention I thought it was a crazy way to make a pasta meal.
However, after giving it a try, I realized that the pasta had flavor from the broth it was cooked in and that made the meal even more delicious! Everything from the bacon, the pasta, and the sauce is made in just one pot!

I have found that the Dutch oven works best for me. A large skillet would probably work but it would need to have tall sides so that it could hold all the liquid and pasta.
A good quality bacon
Green Peas
Heavy Cream
Chicken Broth - this is the brand that I buy.
Tips and Substitutions
- I highly recommend that dried Parmesan is not substituted for fresh Parmesan. Dried will give the sauce a graininess
- Substitute half and half or whole milk for the heavy cream
- Substitute penne or ziti pasta for the Rigatoni
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp to the pasta for a protein boost
- Substitute chopped broccoli for the peas
