    πŸ“– Variations

While the chocolate peanut butter rice krispie treats are already a crowd-pleaser, you can get creative and try out some fun variations:

    • Use chunky peanut butter in place of creamy peanut butter.
    • White chocolate chips or butterscotch chips can be substituted for the peanut butter or chocolate chips. Or, use a combination of your favorite flavored chips.
    • Instead of toffee bits, sprinkle some flaky sea salt, chopped peanuts, or chopped peanut butter cups over top of the chocolate mixture.
    • Substitute a different nut butter for the peanut butter. Cashew butter or almond butter are great choices.
One no bake bar with a bite taken from with more bars in the background.

    πŸ’ Tips

    • If you don't have an icing spreader, use a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth out the chocolate topping over the bars
    • Line the pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides. This will make it easier to remove the set treats from the pan and cut them cleanly.

    πŸ™‹ FAQ's

Can I use other cereals besides Rice Krispies?

Yes, you can experiment with different cereals like corn flakes, cocoa krispies, or rice chex cereal.

My bars turned out grainy, what went wrong?

The sugar and corn syrup needs to cook on the stove top until there are no granules left and the syrup mixture is clear. If this is not done, you will have grains of sugar in the mixture.
