    Whole milk

    Butter

    All purpose flour

    🥫Storage

Dried beef strips in white gravy.

    📖 Variations

    • Substitute ground beef, ground sausage, or canned tuna or salmon for the chipped beef.
    • Add ½ chopped onion to the butter when melting and saute for 1 minute, then proceed with the recipe.
    • Garnish with chopped chives or green onions in place of the parsley.
    • Make a cheesy cream gravy by adding ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese to the gravy once it has thickened.

    💭 Tips

    • When making the gravy, brown the butter before adding the flour, or use bacon grease. This will give your gravy a richer flavor.
    • Be sure to rinse the dried beef, it is very salty and will add a lot of salt to your gravy (which is why you should not add any extra salt to the gravy).
    • Cut the dried beef in slices for a better eating experience!

Farm visits are my favorite! I've been fortunate enough to do a few in my six years of blogging so far. I love meeting the farmers - they are such good, hard working people. Love this recipe and that you served it over biscuits instead of toast. Yum!
