    The Last Word

I first had shishito peppers as an appetizer on a trip to Salem, MA. I visited a place called Mercy Tavern while waiting for another event close by to begin. These were on the menu and were a charred along with padron peppers, served with lemon wedges and parmesan cheese. This is my take on their recipe.

Hi Shelby, These peepers look like something I could get my own Grumpy to eat. I do not own an air fryer (yet) but you mentioned these could be oven roasted. Could you provide a few details please and thank you?

Hi Lynn, yes, you can roast them in the oven at 350 degrees if you wish. I have not done this because I always use my air fryer for these, but I would say maybe 10 minutes but check them periodically and give them a stir as they are cooking. They will blister and get brown in spots. That is when you know they are done. Also, I am making these tomorrow myself for Father's Day!

Hmmmm...never had these peppers but it looks delicious. Are these specialty peppers I'd have to look for like at Whole Foods or a seasonal item? I dont recall seeing these before, or are they a frozen item sin e the directions say "bag"?

Hi Mary, these are whole peppers. I find usually find them at Trader Joe's but I have seen them at Whole Foods also. They are in the produce section where all the peppers are. I hope you find them! If not, baby bell peppers are great this way also!
