Keto Coffee To Start The Day

Those who follow the ketogenic lifestyle like to enjoy a keto coffee in the morning to start the day. It is the one cup I look forward to having on a regular basis. This Keto Snickerdoodle Coffee is not only delicious, but it gives you a way to boost your fat intake for the day.

Many who follow keto, myself included, will at times need to supplement their diet with extra fat and the Keto Snickerdoodle Coffee is a great way to do so.

What You Need To Make A Keto Snickerdoodle Coffee

I am one of those of the mind that any coffee will work. You do not have to buy a specially labeled coffee to make a fatty coffee. I prefer a dark delicious roast like this one.

Butter is one of my favorite things to add to a fatty coffee. When it is added to a hot coffee and blended, the end result is a rich, creamy, latte like beverage. You can use salted or unsalted butter. I personally prefer salted.

MCT Oil is optional. It is a fat extracted from coconut oil and can be converted into ketones. Which, if you are following keto, is a good thing as the main goal in following the keto diet is to reach and maintain ketosis.

Keto Friendly Sweetener is also optional. I have always had to use a little sweetener to help reduce the bitterness of my coffee. My go to sweetener is this one, derived from monkfruit.

Cinnamon is a must have for that “keto snickerdoodle coffee” effect!

Tips and Substitutions

  • Unscrew the blender cap carefully to prevent steam burns. There will be steam trapped and you will hear the air release.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coffee freshly brewed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 teaspoons classic granulated monkfruit divided
  • 2 teaspoons mct oil divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon divided

Instructions

  • Add the coffee, butter, 3 teaspoons of monkfruit sweetener, and MCT oil (if using) to a blender. Cover and blend for 5 seconds, or until frothy. Pour into two coffee mugs.
  • Combine the remaining 1 teaspoon of sweetener with the cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the coffee mugs.
