❤️ Why I Love This Recipe

✔️ This Pistachio Ice Cream is a no-churn recipe, making it one of the tastiest easy ice cream recipes out there!

✔️ The flavors and textures combine to make the perfect scoop!

✔️ You don't need an ice cream maker to make this homemade favorite!

    🥘 Ingredients

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Heavy cream gives the ice cream its rich, smooth finish.

Sweetened condensed milk is used as a sweetener and gives the Pistachio Ice Cream its soft, creamy texture.

Sugar-free instant pistachio pudding powder is the key component to getting that beautiful pistachio flavor and iconic green coloring.

Pistachios (my favorite nut!) add flavor and texture to the ice cream mixture.

Fresh cherries bring an added element of sweet complexity and vibrant color, further enhancing the flavors.

Almond extract adds warm, aromatic notes, beautifully tying the flavors together.

    a bowl of ice cream

    🔪 Instructions

    1. In a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer, mix together the heavy cream and pudding mix for 5 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
    2. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the sweetened condensed milk, pistachios, cherries, and almond extract.
    3. Transfer the ice cream mixture into a 9-inch loaf pan and freeze for at least 6 hours, until ice cream is firm.

    🙋 Recipe FAQ's

What's the difference between no-churn and churned ice cream?

No-churn ice cream usually contains sweetened condensed milk in place of granulated sugar. This is also the perfect dessert for anyone with egg allergies, as it doesn't contain eggs like churned ice cream.

Why do you use sweetened condensed milk in no churn ice cream?

Sweetened condensed milk will add sweetness along with another level of creaminess to the ice cream.

Can I use granulated sugar to make no churn ice cream?

Granulated sugar is not optimal for no churn ice cream and using it can cause a grainy product.

    💭 Tips

    • Cream of coconut, which is a sweetened coconut cream, can be used as a substitute for the sweetened condensed milk, this may add a coconut flavor to the Pistachio Ice Cream.
    • Adding a small amount of alcohol such as amaretto, kirsch, or a cherry flavored vodka to your ice cream mix help keep it softer, making it easier to scoop.

    📖 Variations

    • Change it up by adding vanilla extract and vanilla bean into the ice cream base.
    • Substitute oranges in place of the cherries fr a citrusy scoop!
    • Top your tasty treat with whipped cream and chopped pistachios for a more finished look!

Oh my this sounds good! I am crazy about pistachios and cherries too! The cherries have been so good this year - it is difficult to stop eating them! I love how you used the pudding in this - that really opens up so many flavor options for the no churn! Thanks for sharing, Shelby 🙂

I have not made no churn with pudding in the mix, but I am loving this idea! And this is a great flavor combo. I wish pistachios weren't so darn expensive, because I love them too!
