Chocolate Strawberry Cream Puff Bites are a dreamy dessert, made with a light chocolate choux pastry, rich hazelnut spread, and juicy fresh strawberries. These little puffs are easy to love, bringing a perfect balance of crispy, creamy, and fruity in every bite.

This recipe was inspired by my fondness for special but simple treats like my Easy Cream Puff Recipe, and the flavor pairing idea came straight from those classic chocolate-covered strawberries I love to make every Valentineโs Day. Adding hazelnut spread just felt like the perfect finishing touch!

Why You'll Love Chocolate Strawberry Cream Puff Bites
Easy filling: No whipping cream needed โ hazelnut spread makes it simple and delicious.
Perfect for gatherings: Great for Mother's day, birthdays, brunches, or date nights at home.
Elegant presentation: They look bakery-worthy but are very doable at home.

Ingredients for Chocolate Cream Puff Bites
Besides your basic pantry ingredients of flour, butter, and eggs, you will need some cocoa powder, hazelnut spread, and fresh strawberries.
Ingredient Substitution Ideas
- Hazelnut spread โ Use a chocolate almond spread or pistachio spread (affiliate link) for a different nutty filling.
- Strawberries โ Try chopped cherries, kiwi, or blueberries for a different fruit profile.
- Cocoa powder in pastry โ Omit cocoa powder for a more traditional vanilla-flavored puff.
Recipe Variations
Berry blend filling: Mix chopped strawberries with a few raspberries and/or blackberries for a berry medley.
Nutella whipped cream: Blend Nutella with a little whipped cream for an extra light, fluffy filling.
Chocolate dipped tops: Dip the tops of baked puffs in melted chocolate and let set before filling.

Top Tips for Success
Cool fully before filling: You want the pastry cool so the hazelnut spread doesnโt get too runny.
Get the dough right: Stir the flour mixture well over heat until it forms a smooth ball โ this step is important for puff success.
Add eggs slowly: Beat well after each addition to get a smooth, shiny batter.
Donโt underbake: The puffs should be firm, dry, and sound hollow when tapped.
How to Store
Freezing: Freeze baked, unfilled puffs for up to 1 month. Thaw and re-crisp in a warm oven before filling.
Unfilled puffs: Store at room temperature in an airtight container for 1โ2 days.
Filled puffs: Store filled puffs in the refrigerator in an airtight container and enjoy within 24 hours.

Serving Suggestions
Make a dessert platter: Include these puffs along with chocolate-covered strawberries for a stunning spread.
Serve with a side of rhubarb sauce for a sweet-tart contrast.
Fill with butterscotch pudding instead of hazelnut spread for a different twist.
Drizzle with salted caramel sauce for a rich, buttery finish.
