    Chewy M and M Cookies

    Chewy cookies: These cookies offer a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, chewy texture on the inside, perfectly complemented by the burst of colors from the M&M candies.

    Unsalted butter

    Brown sugar: you can use either light orΒ dark brown sugar, whichever your preference is. Darker brown sugar will give a deeper molasses flavor.

    GranulatedΒ white sugar

    Large egg

    Vanilla extract

    All-purpose flour

    Baking soda

    Sea salt

    Red, white, and blueΒ M&M candies:Β these are seasonal, you can useΒ regularΒ m&mΒ candies.

    πŸ”ͺ Instructions

    1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
    2. In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl, mix together white sugar, brown sugar, and butter until creamy and well incorporated. 
    3. Add egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
    4. In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. 
    5. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture and mix until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl while mixing to fully incorporate.
    6. Fold in m&m candies and drop dough by tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet. Strageticaly place a few m&m candies on top of the cookie dough balls, pressing them in slightly to adhere.
    7. Bake cookies at 350 for 9 minutes, until cookies are golden brown around the edges with a the top of the cookie has a slightly less baked center.
    8. Cool cookies on a wire rack for 2 minutes. Transfer cookies using a cookie spatular to a cooling rack and cool completely.

    Room temperature: store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days. 

    Freeze: for longer storage, cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months in a freezer safe container. Before serving, bring cookies to room temperature or reheat them briefly in a preheated oven for a few minutes to restore their irresistible texture.

    • Melt and brown butter before combining with the sugars for a complimentary nutty flavor.
    • Substitute regular m&m candies, or your favorite flavor m&m such as mint, peanut butter, or mini m&m.
