I have seen Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders all over pinterest. Everytime I would see them I would drool! They looked so delicious. I really wanted to try them but knew Grumpy would not go for it. He’s picky like that if you haven’t figured that one out yet! So, I found a way to make them, and make them with a healthier (for me) slider roll. That is how these Ham and Swiss Sliders ~ single serving size, came about.
As usual, I made these my way and they are inspired by all those yummy photos I see on pinterest. I would definitely say these are a perfect party food. I baked mine in the oven but I bet you could also cook them on low on the grill if you were in the mood to not heat up your house!
I am thinking there are several variations of this that could be made. Such as Rueben, Philly Cheese, Turkey & Swiss, Roast Beef and Provolone…I could go on and on. The best part of this sandwich was I was able to have it in single serving size without having to make dozens of them! I dislike having too many leftovers and I really dislike having to throw food out. Now I can enjoy these anytime I want, they will be fresh, and I won’t have to worry about waste! Perfect 🙂

**Note, while I use Splenda Brown Sugar Blend you can always substitue regular brown sugar or omit it all together. I opted to use whole wheat slider rolls as a healthier choice of bread.
Ingredients
- 2 whole wheat slider rolls
- 3 slices Virginia ham
- 2 ounces thinly sliced Swiss cheese
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 teaspoon stone ground mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Splenda brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, stir together melted butter, mustard, worstershire sauce, splenda brown sugar, and poppy seeds. Set aside.
- Place the bottom half of two whole wheat slider rolls in the bottom of a small baking casserole. Evenly distribute ham and swiss cheese over bottom of roll. Place top half of roll over ham and cheese mixture. Drizzle mustard topping over bun tops and bake just until cheese begins to melt and become bubbly (about 10-15 minutes)
I've seen these all over too, and like you, I drool every single time. Your version is no exception! These look and sound so good. I love that you made them a little healthier too!
I love the whole grain in these! I think it goes better with the ham, too. These look amazing.
These look so amazing… Going to have to make them for myself 🙂 Yum!
Yum! These sound delicious, and I loved that you made them a little healthier!
I like your version with the whole wheat rolls. These look so good, especially love that gooey cheese!
