Haricots Verts, also known as french green beans, are a long string bean sauteed in a hot skillet and tossed with buttery bread crumbs and crispy bacon.
Rinse green beans and pat dry with paper towels to absorb any moisture remaining.
In a large skillet, melt tablespoon butter over medium heat until bubbly. Add shallots and saute for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
Add string beans and saute for 7 minutes or until a fork easily pierces the bean.
While beans are sauteing, add remaining butter to small skillet and melt over medium heat until bubbly. And breadcrumbs and toss to coat, cooking until lightly browned and crispy, stirring often. Remove from heat.
Add breadcrumbs and bacon to green beans in skillet and stir to combine. Garnish with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
