Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the melted butter, salt and cayenne pepper into the maple syrup.
Wrap one bacon half around each squash piece. Secure with a toothpick.
Bake the bacon wrapped squash on a parchment lined baking pan 40-45 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and squash is tender. Brush the squash with the maple syrup mixture periodically throughout cooking.
