Garlic Dill Pickles Home Canning Recipe

This canning recipe for garlic dill pickles is a hot packed canning process resulting in crisp pickles packed with garlic and dill flavor.

Ingredients

14 lbs Pickling Cucumbers 2 quarts water 2 cups apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup canning salt 28 large garlic cloves 7 large dill heads

Soak cucumbers 4 hours in ice water bath. Drain water and cut cucumbers into spears. Heat water to sterilize jars and lids.

Add a splash of vinegar to the boiling water to sterilize jars and lids prior to packing with ingredients

Add jars and lids to boiling water and boil 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix vinegar solution to brine cukes.

Add 4 garlic cloves and 1 head of dill to each hot sterilized jar.

 Pour hot brine over top of cucumber spears, garlic, and dill, then add seal and screw cap tight.

Place hot jars on towels and allow to cool completely making sure each jar is sealed when cooled.
