Place marshmallows and butter in large microwave safe bowl.
Measure out six cups rice krispies and place in bowl, set aside.
Microwave marshmallows and butter for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir. Add food coloring. I did not measure the food coloring, I added it and adjusted to bring it to the green I wanted. I may add more food coloring if I were to make this again to make the treats greener.
If your marshmallow mixture needs to be microwaved longer, place back in microwave and cook for another 60 seconds.
Remove from microwave and stir in rice krispies until coated with marshmallows.
Turn rice krispies mixture out into prepared 8x8 pan and press down to pack into pan with a spoon. Coat the back of the spoon with butter to prevent sticking.
Score the rice krispie treats (12 pieces) and refrigerate until firm.
Remove treats from refrigerator and decorate with chocolate and candies as desired.
